Connecting Google Analytics to Conversific

This guide is for you if:

  • You are connecting your shop and Google Analytics account for the first time. In this case, continue reading.
  • You have already connected a Google Analytics account, but you want to connect a different account, or just want to disconnect and reconnect the same one. In this case, scroll to the second half of this guide.

Connecting Google Analytics account as part of the registration / shop connection process

While going through the registration process you need to connect your Google Analytics account in the second step to utilize all the power of your data.

First, click on the Connect New button.

After that, choose the appropriate Google account.

What to look out for:

  1. You can choose any Google account, but the account you choose has to have access to the appropriate Google Analytics account.
  2. The Google Analytics account your connecting should be the one collecting data from your store (via the proper tracking code)

If you connect the wrong account you either won't have data or you are going to have data, but not accurate.

When you have chosen the account, you need to click on the Allow button in order to grant Conversific access to your data.

In the following step you need to fill out 3+1 fields.

  • The 1st field is your connected account. This is going to be prefilled as you have connected it in the previous step.

However, we left it here in order if you would need to change the account.

You can do this by clicking on the first tab and selecting Connect New.

  • In the next fields you have to select the Google Analytics account, the Google Analytics property and the Google Analytics view.

You can have access to more accounts with your account, but in most cases there will be one account only.

  • The property is basically the website you are acquiring data from (your store).
  • The view is usually a filtered data set.
  • Most people usually use the all website data view which is an unfiltered view.

When you are done just click Next :)

Disconnecting / re-connecting an already connected account

If you feel the need to refresh your connection, you want to connect another account, or a lovely person from our Support team asks you to re-connect your account, here's how to do that:

Click on the circular icon in the bottom left corner and click on Store then go to Data sources.

Click on Google Analytics, and choose "Disconnect". Confirm your decision on the pop up.

Click on Connect now next to Google Analytics, and fill out the brackets with the following details(it might be pre-filled with the previous account's details if you had one connected, just simply overwrite that information):

  • The first field is your connected account. If you want to connect a different account click on the Sign in with Google button below the first field.

In the next fields you have to select the Google Analytics account, the Google Analytics property and the Google Analytics view.

You can have access to more accounts with your account, but in most cases there will be one account only.

  • The property is basically the website you are acquiring data from (your store).
  • The view is usually a filtered data set.
  • Most people usually use the all website data view which is an unfiltered view.

If you are done, just click Save.

What if the data can't download or I can't find the proper view?

Log in to your GA account.

Click on the “ADMIN” section (cogwheel icon in the left bottom corner)

Click on the ACCOUNT section and choose User management.

Find the email address you want to use for your Conversific account and check the Account Permissions.

All of the permissions need to be checked. (Manage Users/Edit/Collaborate/Read&Analyze).

If your email address doesn’t have all the permissions you are going to see a similar screen to the one above.

In this case you need to find an e-mail address that has all permissions and ask the owner to give you required permissions.

If you are still unable to connect Google Analytics to your Conversific account, no worries, just contact help@conversific.com and Customer Support is going to take care of you.
