How to use your Profit Report?

  • COGS data entered at the store admin
  • (Revenue generated for the time frame examined)

Main Dashboard

You can use this module for quickly determining your Gross Profit for a given time period. Easily compare to the previous period and the previous year. Also, you can understand how your Gross Profit came together by looking at the set of corresponding sub-KPIs.

KPIs present:

Gross Profit - Total sales of the store minus the total cost of the goods sold. The total sales are all the goods sold by the company. The total cost of the goods sold is the sum of all the variable costs involved in sales.

Total Sales - COGS

Gross Margin - The gross margin reveals the amount that a business earns from the sale of its products and services, before the deduction of any selling and administrative expenses.

(Total sales - Cost of goods sold) / Total sales

Net Sales - Gross sales are the grand total of all sale transactions reported in a period, without any deductions included within the figure. Net sales are defined as gross sales minus the shipping costs and taxes.

Total Sales - Shipping - Taxes

COGS - Cost of Goods Sold - Cost of goods sold is the accumulated total of all costs used to create a product or service, which has been sold. In a retail or wholesale business, the cost of goods sold is likely to be merchandise that was bought from a manufacturer.

Taxes - is a compulsory financial charge or some other type of levy imposed upon a taxpayer (an individual or legal entity) by a governmental organization in order to fund various public expenditures

Shipping - The cost of getting your products to your customers.

1.) Profit by Date

Pretty self explanatory. Here you can see your profit in daily or monthly breakdown.

Note: Any discrepancy between the data shown here and in the Sales report is the result of missing costs. We only calculate in this report order items with costs.

2.) Profit by Source

You can use this module for learning details about profitability of certain intersting pre-created segments like marketing channels or new vs return customers.

KPIs present:

Net Sales, COGS, Taxes, Shipping, Gross Profit, Gross Margin

Features:

Select specific attributes for breaking down / segmenting of the above KPIs. Options:

Marketing Channel - The marketing channel used to generate revenue

Shipping Country - The country where the order is shipped to

Billing Country - The country used for billing

New/Return Customers - Performance of first time customers vs. returning customers

Customer Group - Compilation of tagged customers

Export - You can export the contents of the table

Order - You can order the contents of the table in an ascending or descending order by clicking on the main attributes at the top of the table

3.) Most Profitable Products

You can use this module for quickly learning which products that you sell have the highest margin.

KPIs present:

Net Sales, Gross Profit, Gross Margin

Features:

Show all - If you click on show all you can see the full list of your items sold and all of their relating KPIs.

Individual Product page - If you click on the product's name (written in blue) you can see the product's page where you can deeply analyze the performance of an individual product.

4.) Most Profitable Customers

You can use this module to get a list of your most profit generating customers.

KPIs present:

Total Spend - Total Revenue coming from Customer

Net Spend - Total Revenue coming from Customer minus shipping & taxes

Gross Profit, Gross Margin - Same as above

Orders - Number of orders made by the Customer in the given time frame

Features:

Show all - If you click on show all you can see the full list of your active Customers and all of their relating KPIs.

Individual Customer page - If you click on the Customer's name (written in blue) you can see the Customer's page where you can deeply analyze the performance of an individual Customer.

Order Group list - If you click on the entry in the order column (written in blue) and get the filtered down list of orders made by a specific Customer in the given time period.


5.) Most Profitable Orders

This module shows you which orders were the most profitable in a given period.

KPIs present

Gross profit - Net sales of the order minus the cost of the goods sold in the order.

Total spend - The total amount that the customer paid for the order.

Net spend - The total amount that the customer paid for the order minus tax and shipping.

Gross margin - Gross profit divided by Net spend

COGS - The total cost of the products that the order contains.
